Drawing with the iPad is fun. Although far from a Cintiq in accuracy (did not even pressure levels such as Wacom tablets), can give great satisfaction to those who use it to draw. I also discovered lots of apps dedicated to the illustrators and I found them very professional. I'm leaving anyway to post a quick sketch made with Brushes, among the most popular app, created originally for IPhone and IPod and then updated for the screen more 'big IPad. The application is simple to use, minimal, with few options, but at the same time allows you to do everything necessary which can be used to draw. You choose between the various brushes, you decide the size and opacity, and you start to draw on one or more levels. That's it, simple and fast! But 'you miss the instrument blender, completely absent in this app. The color managements not very friendly than other applications such as Procreate (the most' similar to Photoshop). One nice thing is the fact that in the background Brushes creates a movie that records all the steps you do to make the picture. Publishing it on youtube is very simple and fast. To be able to publish is sufficient to send the video via email to your email address and then discharged from the program site Brush Viewer application that converts files in QuickTime format ready to be posted on youtube. This app has been used for a couple of covers of the New Yorker.

Disegnare con l'Ipad è divertente.
Seppur molto distante da una Cintiq a livello di precisione (non ha neanche i livelli di pressione come le tavolette Wacom), può dare molta soddisfazione a chi lo usa per disegnare.
Inoltre ho scoperto tantissime app dedicate al disegno e alcune di esse le ho trovate molto professionali.
Parto comunque a postare uno schizzo veloce realizzato con Brushes, un'app tra le più famose, nate originariamente per IPhone e IPod e poi aggiornata anche per lo schermo più' grande di IPad.
L'applicazione è semplicissima da usare, minimalista e con poche opzioni, ma allo stesso tempo ti permette di fare tutto l'indispensabile che può servire per disegnare. Si sceglie tra i vari pennelli, si decide l'opacità e la grandezza e si inizia a disegnare su uno o più'livelli. Tutto qua, semplice e veloce! Pero' si sente la mancanza dello strumento blender, del tutto assente in questa app. La gestione dei colori la trovo un po' macchinosa rispetto ad altre applicazioni come Procreate( piu' simile a Photoshop). Una cosa molto bella è invece il fatto che Brushes crea in background un filmato che registra tutti i passaggi che si fanno per realizzare l'illustrazione, ottenendo così il classico video da speed painting che tanto va di moda ultimamente. Per poterlo pubblicare basta spedire il filmato via mail al proprio indirizzo di posta elettronica e poi scaricarsi dal sito dell'applicazione il programma Brush Viewer che converte il file in formato quicktime pronto per essere pubblicato su youtube. Questa app è stata usata per un paio di copertine del New Yorker, per la precisione queste.
